Nasya at Vishwashree Clinic Thane

About this treatment

Nasya is the Panchakarma of the Urdhwa jatrugata (parts above the clavicle). Medicine given in the nose is said to reach the Shringataka marma and influence sinuses, senses, hair, and the mind. Types include Pratimarsha (daily drops) and Marsha (clinic-dose) Nasya with oil, ghee, or fresh juice, chosen for dryness, congestion, or Pitta heat.

A sitting usually includes face and neck oleation, a short steam, drops in a reclined position, then spitting of phlegm, gargle, and rest. At Vishwashree Clinic this is used for allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, migraine, hair fall with dryness, cervical stiffness radiating to the head, and selected facial palsy cases.

Who it may help

  • Blocked nose, sinus pressure, and reduced smell
  • Migraine and tension headache with sinus overlay
  • Hair fall with dry scalp and restless mind
  • Cervical pain, frozen shoulder of Vata type, and facial weakness

Care at Vishwashree Clinic

Nasya is avoided in acute fever, just after meals, in pregnancy unless specifically decided, and when the person is very hungry or exhausted. After-care is strict: no cold wind, no immediate bath, and a light warm diet.

  • Medicine chosen for dryness versus congestion
  • Oleation, steam, and supervised drops
  • Course of sittings rather than a one-off
  • Home Pratimarsha drops if the physician advises
