Raktmokshan
Controlled therapeutic bloodletting for selected Pitta-Rakta disorders such as stubborn skin inflammation, gouty pain, or local congestion, performed only after the physician finds it appropriate.
About this treatment
Raktmokshan is one of the five Panchakarma methods. It removes vitiated Rakta in a measured way using methods such as leech therapy (Jalaukavacharana) or other classical techniques the physician is trained in. It is used when blood-borne Pitta shows as angry skin patches, localised inflammation, or certain painful congested conditions that have not settled with medicines alone.
This is not a general “detox bleed.” Haemoglobin, clotting, infection risk, pregnancy, and weakness are checked. At Vishwashree Clinic the site, quantity, and method are decided on the day after examination. Wound care and rest follow. Many patients need only a few sittings combined with internal Rakta-prasadana medicines.

Care at Vishwashree Clinic
Anaemia, bleeding disorders, very low strength, and infection at the site are exclusions. Sterile technique and after-care of the bite or puncture are mandatory. You will be told how to keep the area clean and what diet to follow for a few days.
