Basti at Vishwashree Clinic Thane

About this treatment

Basti delivers medicated oil or decoction through the rectum to act on Vata, which governs the colon, joints, and nervous system. Anuvasana (oil) nourishes and lubricates. Niruha (decoction) cleanses and reduces obstruction. Alternating courses are classical for arthritis, spondylosis, paralysis rehabilitation, infertility with Vata, and stubborn constipation.

This is not a home enema. The medicine, temperature, quantity, and retention time are decided by the physician. At Vishwashree Clinic, Abhyangam and Swedan often precede Basti so channels are open. You rest after the sitting. A series of days works better than a single session.
