Understanding Panchakarma treatment in Ayurveda

Panchakarma is a renowned therapeutic sequence in Ayurveda: oleation, fomentation, and then a chosen main procedure such as Vaman, Virechan, Basti, Nasya, or Raktmokshan. It is not a spa menu. Done properly, it needs assessment, preparation (Purvakarma), the procedure itself, and a quiet recovery diet (Paschatkarma).

People come to Vishwashree Clinic for Panchakarma when skin, joints, digestion, sinus, or hormones have stopped responding to medicines alone. The right karma depends on Dosha, strength, season, and disease. Vaman is not for everyone. Basti is often the backbone for Vata. Nasya serves the head and sinus. We do not run five procedures on every patient in a weekend.

You will be told what to eat, how much rest to take, and which daily work to pause. That discipline is part of the medicine. Skipping it is why some people say “Panchakarma did nothing.”

If you are considering a course of Panchakarma in Thane West, start with a doctor-led consult. We will say clearly whether you need a full sequence, a single supportive therapy such as Abhyangam or Shirodhara, or only diet and medicines first.
