Abhyangam
Full-body herbal oil massage to nourish muscles and joints, calm Vata, improve sleep, and prepare the body for Swedan or further Panchakarma.
About this treatment
Abhyanga is the daily or course-wise application of warm medicated oil with specific strokes. It reduces dryness, stiffness, fatigue, and the ageing Vata that comes from travel, AC, and irregular meals. Oils such as Dhanwantharam, Ksheerabala, or sesame-based yogas are chosen for the person, not from a menu board alone.
At Vishwashree Clinic, Abhyangam is both a stand-alone therapy for body ache and a Poorva karma before Basti, Virechan, or Swedan. Pressure is adjusted for osteoporosis, pregnancy (when allowed), and acute inflammation. After the massage, a warm bath may be advised or steam may follow, depending on the plan.
