Vaman
Therapeutic emesis to clear Kapha from the stomach and chest. It is used only after preparation, in selected Kapha disorders, and always under the physician’s supervision.
About this treatment
Vaman is the planned expulsion of Kapha through the mouth after proper Snehana and Swedana. Classically it is used in bronchial congestion, certain skin diseases, hyperacidity with Kapha coating, and some metabolic heaviness. It is a medical procedure, not induced vomiting at home.
At Vishwashree Clinic, fitness is checked first: strength, age, blood pressure, pregnancy, and heart-lung status. Only suitable patients are prepared with ghee and steam. On the procedure day, a Kapha-aggravating meal and medicines are given as per protocol, then emesis is supervised until the physician is satisfied with the end point. Rest and a light diet follow.

Care at Vishwashree Clinic
Unfit, very weak, pregnant, or elderly frail patients are not given Vaman. If another Shodhana is safer, that is what we recommend. After-care (Samsarjana krama) is explained in detail so Agni returns step by step.
