Paralysis Treatment
Supportive rehabilitation after paralysis, stroke weakness, or nerve injury. Abhyangam, Pinda Swed, Basti, and herbal medicines are used to aid mobility, sensation, and daily function.
About this treatment
Pakshaghata and related Vata disorders include hemi-paresis after stroke, facial palsy, foot drop, and long-standing stiffness with limited movement. Ayurveda treats these as major Vata vyadhi affecting Majja and Snayu. Recovery depends on cause, time since the event, age, and how much physiotherapy is already in place. We support that recovery; we do not replace emergency stroke care.
Abhyangam with medicated oils, Pinda Swed, and Basti are the core therapies to nourish nerves and reduce rigidity. Internal Rasayana and Vata-hara medicines are added when the patient can swallow safely. Family is taught simple home oiling and positioning so clinic sittings continue to work between visits.
Who it may help
- Residual weakness after stroke, once medically stable
- Bell’s palsy and facial deviation in a recovering phase
- Nerve injury, stiffness, and reduced sensation
- Spasticity that limits walking, grip, or speech effort
Care at Vishwashree Clinic
Acute stroke, uncontrolled blood pressure, or a patient who cannot lie safely is not started on heavy oil therapies. Bring discharge summaries. The physician sets a sitting plan that can run beside physiotherapy.
