Netratarpan
A classical eye therapy in which medicated ghee is retained over the eyes. It nourishes dry, strained, and tired eyes and is used for selected vision-related complaints after assessment.
About this treatment
Tarpana is a Kriya kalpa of Shalakya tantra. A dough dam is built around the eyes and lukewarm medicated ghrita is poured to bathe the eyes for a counted time. It is indicated in dryness (Sushkakshipaka), computer-strain fatigue, selected refractive discomfort, and Vata-Pitta eye complaints where the surface is undernourished.
At Vishwashree Clinic the ghee, duration, and number of days are decided after looking at redness, discharge, and whether the problem is dryness or active infection. Active conjunctivitis, injury, and sudden vision loss are not Tarpana cases. The sitting is quiet; you blink as instructed, then the ghee is removed and the eyes are rested.
Who it may help
- Dry, gritty eyes from screens and AC
- Eye fatigue, mild burning, and strain headaches
- Selected chronic dryness after the physician’s examination
- People whose work demands long near-focus hours
Care at Vishwashree Clinic
Remove contact lenses as advised. Do not drive immediately if vision is temporarily filmy. Screen breaks and blink training are given with the therapy so the ghee’s effect is not undone the same evening.
- Ghrita chosen for the eye condition
- Dough dam and timed retention
- Rest and light protection afterwards
- Screen, sleep, and blink hygiene for home
